Quote of the Week

Today we need prophetic preachers; not preachers of prophecy
merely, but preachers with a gift of prophecy. The word of wisdom
is missing. We need the gift of discernment again in our pulpits. It
is not ability to predict that we need, but the anointed eye, the
power of spiritual penetration and interpretation, the ability to
appraise the religious scene as viewed from God's position, and
to tell us what is actually going on....

A poignant quote. As real today as it was when first made. The insight is that we never "not need today" prophetic preaching: that "anointed eye" that takes scripture and expounds it in light of the present reality. God's Word is the same yesterday, today & forever. It is a pertinent and applicable to us today as it was to our brothers in 1st century Rome.

God give us more prophets and less preachers seeking to sensitize to seekers. Let us not forget that the "seekers" are seeking something the world doesn't offer, so why do we the church repackage ourselves like the world?

Interestingly there is a lack of the love of the truth today which rejects God's wisdom.
Mostly people want to hear a 'prophetic word' about God making them happy and comfortable instead.
